Pop singer Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, scored a hat-trick at the Brit Awards, winning three prizes including best international female and breakthrough act.
Gaga, 23, who arrived at the London ceremony wearing a three-tiered white dress and a tall white wig, also won best international album for ‘The Fame’.
She was in tears when it was announced that she had won her third award, for best international album.
“I was really excited to win the first two awards. This award means even more to me because I worked so hard on this album for so long,” the BBC quoted her as saying.
The star also collected the award for best British female, her first Brit accolade.
