Ever had a day when you woke up feeling you have put on couple of kilos? It makes you feel so horrible that you avoid getting out of the house. Don't worry, you are not alone. Most women go through this.
Nutritionist Drishti Desai says this usually happens around your period. "Your hormones are raging and your body retains water making you feel swollen," she says. Here are simple ways to deal with those feel-fat blues:

A good breakfast


A healthy breakfast can uplift your mood and keep you fit. "People who eat breakfast are known to put on less weight than people who skip it," says Desai. You can choose from a lot of breakfast foods like cereals, eggs, fruits, milk and more.

Use the stairs


Give the lift a skip. Climbing 10 floors can burn up to 100 calories in addition to working out your thighs, butt and hips. Climb the stairs to office and the adrenaline will boost your mood.

Have a salad for lunch


For lunch, put together a salad with vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, carrots and an olive oil dressing. This salad in rich in vitamins and minerals and is light on the stomach. It will keep you fuller longer and the antioxidants in the veggies will detoxify your body, leaving you refreshed.

Drink up on water


"Water adds natural moisture to your skin, giving you a fresh glow," says Desai. Believe it or not, a hydrated body retains less water. So, you can get rid of the retention and end up looking great at the same time.

Walk it


If you are too tired for a brisk walk, take it slow. Walking relieves stress and tension in your body. You can listen to music while you walk home, thereby relaxing your mind as well.

This is a time you should turn to your friends to make you feel better. Go dancing and get your favourite song to pep you up. Simply follow these tips and feel fab even on a fat day
