Gmail Surpasses Yahoo Mail To Become India's Largest Free E-Mail Service Provider
According to an online audience measurement and analytics organization, Gmail has overtaken Yahoo Mail to become India's Largest Free E-Mail Service Provider. As per the sources, Gmail had 18 million users as compared to 16.8 million users in Yahoo Mail. Rediff Mail is at number three with 6.25 million users.
The reports also say that, Gmail is growing at a rate of 3%. Similarly the other strong contender is Microsoft's Windows Live Mail, which showed a notable 8% growth in that period.
However, it might not be too far when Gmail will seize the top spot in global e-mail service from Yahoo. Even it is also growing steadily in the US and other parts of the world. So the technical experts see the rise a sign of gradual migration to adopt the popular features in Gmail.
Though recently Yahoo had done a unique marketing technique to woo the customers, still it will take time to see who is having the edge over the other.
