ares 1 x launch
NASA is working at Ares 1 rocket that will be sent to the space in future. They are working to make it cost effective and efficient and effective space transportation system. They are trying to make a system that can carry the crew to moon, Mars and to solar system.
Ares1 is two-stage rocket and topped by the Orion crew vehicle and its launch abort system. It can carry 4 to 6 astronauts to earth orbit. It can also be use to deliver resources and supplies to international space station. In the first stage of launch booster powers the vehicle toward low Earth orbit, the reusable booster separates and the upper stage engine J-2X ignites and move the vehicle into the circular orbit. The transportation to space station is planned to begin not later then 2014.
The first stage of Ares 1 is single. It has 5 segments reusable solid rocket booster. The forward adapter will mates the vehicle’s first stage to upper stage and equipped with booster separation motors to disconnect the stages during ascent.
The upper stage has a J-2X main engine fueled with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen. J-2X is formed by variation in the two previous powerful engines, powerful J-2 engine and the J-2S, a simplified version of the J-2 developed and tested in the early 1970s but never flown.
