Vettaikkaaran (Tamil: வேட்டைக்காரன்) is a forthcoming Tamil feature film directed by débutante film director Babu Sivan. The film is produced by M. Balasubramanian and B. Gurunath Meiyappan. The film will star Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. The film's background score and soundtrack will be composed by Vijay Antony while Gopinath will be the film's main cinematographer and V. T. Vijayan as the film's editor. The film was launched in February 2009 and the shooting for the film commenced the following month.

The director guarantees that the movie will be an all time entertainer and a fully commercial one. It will have good songs too. Of course all Vijay movies are sure to have that part good always. The movie also has exciting action scenes and also gives a message. Babu Sivan seems to be very much impressed by the appeal and reach of Vijay.

Anushka Shetty, a big fan of Vijay, is very much excited to do the film with him. She says, “I am a great fan of Vijay. I have seen his movies several times. I had no hesitation in accepting the offer when AVM and director Babu Sivan approached me. It is a breezy entertainer and acting with him is a delight.”
Vijay Anthony had scored the music for the flick. Other technicians of the film includes cinematographer Ravivarman, art director Milan and editor V T Vijayan. Babu is very much sure about the success of his movie.
