Lenny Sullivan
Lenny Sullivan, the assistant road manager for E Street Band, died yesterday. Bruce Springsteen, cousin of Lenny Sullivan, confirmed the news. Bruce wrote on his website that Lenny Sullivan was found dead in his room at Kansas City’s Intercontinental Hotel where he was staying for the concert. Lenny Sullivan died just three hours before the concert was scheduled to be held. Lenny Sullivan was 36. The cause of his death has not been disclosed yet. Police officers are investigating the cause of death and believe that it was not suspicious.
No information is available about the funeral arrangements of the departed yet.
Bruce Springsteen has cancelled the Monday night show when the tragedy happened. The website showed news about the cancellation of the concert due to ‘a death in his immediate family.’ Few hours later, Bruce updated the news and told his fans that one of his cousins, Lenny Sullivan, who has also assisted the E Street band as road manager passed away and hence the band’s performance has been cancelled. The first announcement about the show cancellation was made 90 minutes before the 7:30 p.m
Remembering the departed Lenny, the E Street band said that he was a ‘warm’ and a ‘sensitive’ person.
The next performance of the band is scheduled to be held at Madison Square Garden on the opening night of 25 anniversary concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Many other renowned artists such as Stevie Wonder are also slated to perform at the same gig.
