New Delhi (ABC Live): The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday has taken a historical decision to allow internet telephony in India.
This decision will benefit customers because of this tariff for long distance calls will come down considerably.
After this decision will come into effect you can call from your computer to any mobile and fixed line numbers as earlier it was confined to only computer to computer only.
This decision will open huge revenue options for Internet Services Providers to use operating these services without taking Unified Access Service Licence (UASL).
Vodafone and Idea are the direct beneficial from this TRAI decision because both do not have national long distance licence.
A price battle among UASL holders such as Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communication, Vodafone and BSNL is evitable in near future so telephony will be more cheaper and have multi media connectivity.
