This year 2009, there are two Vaikuntha Ekadasis one already celebrated on 7th January 2009 and secon one is today, that is on Monday 28th December 2009.
The Vaikunth Ekadashi is an auspicious day and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
In the Margali Month as per the Tamil Calendar. As per the Telugu Calender, it is observed in the Pushya month.
Vaikunta Ekadasi is celebrated in the Tirupati Balaji Temple, Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple, and Bhadrachalam Sita Ramachandraswamy temple and has more importance for Tamil and Telugu speaking people,but it is also celebrated by other Indian States.
They normally do fasting, vigil at night and passing through the Vaikunta Dwaram.
