Copenhagen- The stalemate in the UN climate summit being held at Copenhagen has been getting the attention of media and environmentalists for some time. This is one of the most important climate summit of the decade, with global warming at its center. However, while the green lobbies are worried at the deadlock it has given Maurice Strong and Copenhagen Climate Summit proponents a chance to grab the attention of media. In fact some politicians are trying to score mileage from the situation and the Canadian Liberal PM Paul Martin is one of them.

He is known to be a long time fan of Maurice Strong and is using the condition in Copenhagen Climate Summit to criticize USA’s role. He feels that USA has a responsibility to share the burden of Canada’s greenhouse gas emission. The green groups and environmental activists associated with prevention of global warming are quite worried at the stalemate in the UN summit. They feel that if the situation does not improve it will not be possible to find an acceptable solution to the environmental problem that threatens the future of mankind.

However, some of the political leaders of the attending nations are trying to find a way. What has made the situation more complicated is the leaders of developed as well as developing countries do not agree on some aspects. There were violent protests outside the venue that forced the police to use tear gas. However, there is still hope that the Copenhagen Climate Summit will bring out a solution to fight Global Warming and leaders like Maurice Strong will offer new ideas.
