‘Baby Einstein’ refunds

The Walt Disney Company provides for the reimbursement to parents of children whose IQ is not increased just for Baby Einstein DVD purchased from 5 June 2004 and September 5, 2009.

According to the New York Times, the video as one of the products marketed educational child, but actually serve as little more than an electronic babysitter. Disney purchased the Baby Einstein line of educational videos for children in 2001. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children should not watch TV or video until it reaches the age of two years.

To avoid a class action for “unfair and deceptive,” Disney has decided that the original purchase price (up to $ 15.99) for a maximum of four Baby Einstein DVD refund per household.

The New York Times reported that about one third of all American households with children aged six months to two years, at least one video. The series is characterized by bright colors, music, puppets and a few words. Children grow quickly from the video of Baby Einstein and Elmo, Barney, Thomas the Tank Engine and Teletubbies.

Restitution Disney should serve to remind parents that the child enjoy video entertainment is a poor substitute for the parent-child relationship, conversation and reading.
