Google releases Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone
Google has just released Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone. This is the second update to the Google Earth app for iPhone that was rolled out a year back. Version 2.0 brings some exciting features such as the ability to view maps you created on your desktop machine from your iPhone, addition of more languages, enhanced icon look and improved performance.
View custom maps from your iPhone
- Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone enables you to see the custom created maps right from your iPhone. Let’s say you or your friend created a map using My Maps, now you want to see it via your iPhone. Guess what you can do it. All you need to do is sign in to your Google Maps account, and you will see the maps you or your contacts created.
- If you created a map using the desktop version of Google Earth, and want to view it using your Google Maps account, all you need to do is save the map as a KML file and import it to My Maps.
Browsing business, photos and places just got easier
Google Earth for iPhone is all about viewing various places of the world from the touch of a finger and browsing related images, Wikipedia articles and more. With the 2nd version, the browsing experience just got easier and more user friendly.
- When you touch an icon, a small glow appears under your finger to let you know which icon you have picked. If your finger touches more than one icon, you’ll be taken to a list of all icons, so you can select the one you are interested in.
