Knackpost| Postal assistant/Sorting assistant vacancies
Knackpost, a part of the India Post invites applications for the posts of Postal assistant and Sorting assistant.
Total number of vacancies for Postal assistant post is 613 in which 310 are un-reserved, 32 are reserved for SC, 34 for ST, 157 for OBC, 61 for PHC and 19 for Ex-servicemen.
Total number of vacancies for Sorting assistant post in Railway mail service is 226 out of which 114 are un reserved, 21 are reserved for SC, 12 for ST, 49 for OBC, 23 for PHC, 7 for Ex-servicemen.
Since these posts are divided district wise in Andhra Pradesh, filled in application must be sent to the respective districts/district capital head post office.
Last date to receive applications is October 20, 2009.
The scale of pay for these posts will be Rs.5200 – 20200 with a grade pay of Rs.2400 plus allowances.
You must be in the age group of 18 to 25 years as on 20.10.2009 to apply to these posts. Age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PHC and 3 years for Ex-servicemen.
Educational qualifications for Postal and Sorting assistants:
You must be a pass candidate in 10+2 or 12th or Intermediate from a recognized board. Higher qualification candidates can also apply.
English must be a subject in 12th for candidates applying for Postal assistant, sorting assistant in Railway mail service and Army postal service.
Candidates should also have the knowledge of local language ie., Telugu and must have studied Telugu as a subject at least up to Matriculation level.
Knowledge of Typing and computer is desirable (not compulsory but will have an advantage)
For postal assistant of Circle office and regional office, a typing skill in Hindi at a speed of 25wpm or in English at a speed of 30wpm and computer knowledge are essential (compulsory).
Candidates with Vocational or Job oriented course are NOT eligible.
Selection of candidates will be based on an aptitude test which will be given 50% weightage, 40% weightage for Intermediate marks and 10% for a computer test (typing skill).
The fee to appear for the Aptitude test (only for those who have been shortlisted according to their marks in Intermediate) is Rs.100 for General candidates and Rs.50 for SC/ST/OBC/PHC. This fee must be paid in any post office and the receipt must be produced at the time of aptitude test.
Note that this fee is different from the initial application fee which is Rs.25. Application form can be obtained from head post offices of respective districts/mandals/talukas by paying Rs.25.
Applications must be accompanied with xerox copies of all required documents, certificates, marks list, community certificate if applicable etc.
The application forms must be sent through Speed or registered post ONLY. No other means will be accepted.
