Tommy Lynn Sells Story Revealed In “48 Hours” New Series “Live To Tell”

erial killer Tommy Lynn Sells was featured in “Live to Tell”, a new three episode series on ‘48 Hours’, the popular television series on CBS on Saturday. The episode which was aired yesterday was titled “Krystal’s Courage”, highlighted the tragic tale of Krystal Surles as she recounted the incident when she was mercilessly attacked by the serial killer along with her sister.
The incident took place on the fateful night of December 31, 1999 when Krystal was only 10 years old. She along with her 13 year old sister Katy were staying with a family friend in Del Rio in Texas when one night while they were sleeping, Tommy Lynn Sells slipped into their room through a window. He then brutally stabbed Katy 16 times which ultimately resulted in her death. Later, Tommy shifted his attention towards Krystal and slashed her throat and left her bleeding. Even after witnessing such horror, the young girl managed to run to a neighboring home. However, the incident did not deter the girl’s courage and she gave the killer’s description to the police so that they could nab him as early as possible. The very next day she identified Tommy Lynn Sells and he was taken into custody.
Tommy Lynn Sales later confessed to his crime and at the same time he also admitted to have killed a number of innocent people over a period of ten years.
As Krystal remembered the horrific details of the fateful night in the new series, she also revealed details of how she recovered from the awful experience. It also turned out to be a heart wrenching experience for the viewers to learn the tale of the young girl whose unflinching courage helped the police in tracking Tommy Lynn Sells.
