The Best PSP Games Of All Time
You know what they say, it’s very seldom that you get a product that satisfies both its critics and its customers. This is very true with movies. Some movies will make a killing at the box office while being lambasted by movie critics. The reverse is also true. Some movies can be critically acclaimed but may perform poorly in terms of ticket sales.
PSP games are no different. There are games that are highly rated and yet they don’t manage to crack the top ten bestselling PSP games list. Here’s a clear picture.
Wikipedia cites the following PSP games as the bestselling games of all time as of December 2008;
1. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (3 million shipped in Japan)
2. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2,725,507 approximately: 2 million in US, 125,507 in Japan, 600,000 in UK)
3. Daxter (2.3 million)
4. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (2.25 million)
5. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (1.96 million during 2008)
6. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (1.3 million approximately: 1.1 million in US, 200,000 in UK)
7. Monster Hunter Freedom (1.2 million)

As you may have noticed there are games in both lists that did not make into the other lists. Could be that there are market behaviours that aren’t taken into consideration when a particular video is rated. Hot Shots Golf for example.
Perhaps when Gamespot rated this game they really weren’t impressed with it. Also, maybe because the game is played more by adults somewhat diminished the game in Gamespot’s eyes, I don’t know. No matter, the game sold really well– with sales breaking the 1 million barrier. Makes you wonder if there are a lot of adults who play PSP as well. Hmmm…
Nevertheless, despite the very minor discrepancy, these lists should at least give you an idea on what games you’re still missing in your collection. You might think of getting them now.
