Parsi New Year Celebrations 2010
It is the most important day of the year for the Parsi community in India and all over the world today as they celebrate Navroze, or Parsi new year. This day is marked with prayers, and festive food preparation in the community.
The people in the Parsi community begin their offering of prayers to the dead and repentance 10 days before the Navroze. The 10th and the last day is known as the Pateti. The day is marked by a number of preparations in the families of the Parsi’s, which include a host of delicacies. Sev, which is prepared with dry fruits and ghee, is the most important dish of the Parsi’s.
People call each other at their respective homes and offer them to drink falooda and eat chocolates to mark their happiness on this day. This is indeed the most auspicious day for the Parsi’s in India and all over the world. So we wish them a ‘Happy Nawroze’
