Facebook acquires Rajaram's Chai Labs
Social networking giant Facebook has acquired Chai Labs for around $10 million, reports All Things Digital. A start-up, Chai Labs began operations in 2007 by Gokul Rajaram, a former Google employee also known as "godfather of Adsense".
The company bills itself as a one-stop shop for customising and launching search-friendly Web sites. On its website, Chai Labs says that the company is able to "bring a unique blend of skills and perspectives which help us reinvent the way content is created, stored, and delivered, to drive user and revenue growth for our customers."
Chai Lab’s investors include Marc Andreessen, co-cofounder of Netscape Communications, as well as LinkedInchairmanReid Hoffman and Google Ventures' Joe Kraus.
Recently, Advertising Age reported that Facebook is set to hit $1.285 billion in global advertising sales in 2010, citing eMarketer analysis. The company was also recently valued at $23 billion.
