Acer launches thinnest Ultrabook
Acer India, the second largest PC vendor in India, on Friday claimed to have launched the world;s thinnest Ultrabook-Aspire S3-in India.
The Recent Q2’2011 market research reports from both Gartner and IDC position Acer as the No. 2 PC vendor in the country. Industry watchers believe that with the launch of the world’s thinnest Ultrabook (new class of mobile computers), the ‘Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook’, Acer is all set to grow exponentially in the Indian market.
The Ultrabook will be shaped by Moore’s Law and silicon technology in the same way they have shaped the traditional PC for the past 40 years.
W S Mukund, Managing Director, Acer India said, “We have redefined our position in the marketplace by making India’s first Ultrabook commercially available at a mainstream price."
The Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook claims to integrate the best features of notebooks and tablets, offering users powerful performance for digital creation, in addition to ultra-fast responsiveness and interaction for content consumption, enhancing the freedom and overall computing experiences of users on the go.
The Aspire S3 Ultrabook, available at Rs. 49,999 onwards, measures 1.3 cm thin and weighs less than 1.4 kg (3 lbs.).5 It's also equipped with a full-size Acer FineTip chiclet keyboard, designed for comfortable use and maximum productivity.
