Suzuki GSX-R1000 suzuki gsx r1000 price in india

Monday, September 12, 2011 0 comments

The GSX-R1000 was not just an enlarged version of the GSX-R750, although it shared many features with its little brother. The main frame is the same in both models, but the material used on the big brother was .5 mm (0.020 in) thicker. Suzuki claimed the torsional rigidity of the frame had increased 10% in comparison with the GSX-R750.Suzuki_GSX-R_1000_2005_07_1024x768
The GSX-R1000 engine was a redesigned GSX-R750 engine. The R1000 had a 1 mm (0.039 in) bigger bore and 13 mm (0.51 in) longer stroke, newly designed pistons with lower crown, and gear-driven counter balancer. The engine weighed 130 lb (59 kg) which was slightly heavier than the 750 engine but 31 lb (14 kg) lighter than the engine of the GSX1300R. The performance of the engine is a peak of 160 bhp (120 kW) at 9,500 rpm, as measured on the crank and 143 hp (107 kW),[2] when measured on the rear wheel with small variations between different instances of the same model. The redline is set at 12,000 rpm. The maximum torque of the engine is 80 ft·lbf (110 N·m) at 8,000 rpm. Combined with a total (dry) weight of 374 lb (170 kg) this gives the GSX-R1000 a top speed of 179 mph (288 km/h), a 1/4 mile time of 10.1 seconds at 141.7 mph (228.0 km/h), and a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3 seconds.
Using titanium for the exhaust down pipe(K1 model link pipe is black, K2 model link pipe is polished titanium) and the inside of the silencer, enabled the 1000s exhaust system to become 4 lb (1.8 kg) lighter than that of the 750[citation needed]. Titanium was also used in the front fork(Titanium-nitride) to coat the stanchions. An exhaust tuning valve had been mounted inside the exhaust pipe. Using a servo the system dynamically adjusted the exhaust back pressure, according to engine speed, throttle position, and gear selection for increased torque, lower emissions, and decreased noise—the (stock) exhaust noise of the GSX-R1000 is notably lower than that of the GSX-R600.
With the 2001 model of the GSX-R1000, the 1998 Yamaha YZF-R1 was finally surpassed with the GSX-R being lighter and more powerful.[3]
The 2001 model carried over to 2002 with minimal changes. 2002 introduced i.a. modifications to the fuel pump, clutch, front axle, torque link, mirrors, and luggage hooks. The manual fast-idle was replaced with a computer operated implementation (the "STV servo"). New colors, and new GSXR stickers.

Maruti Swift relaunched at a starting price of Rs 4.22 lakh

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 0 comments

Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday launched the new version of its premium hatchback 'Swift' at an introductory price ranging from Rs 4.22 lakh to Rs 6.38 lakh. New-Maruti-Suzuki-Swift-Small-Car-3

Built on an all-new platform, the company and its suppliers have invested over Rs 500 crore on the new car.

"We have launched the new Swift at a time when there was a significant demand for the outgoing model. I am confident that the new Swift will create new benchmarks with its improved fuel efficiency, stylish and sportier looks and high performance," Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters here.

Launched six years back, the Swift has been a runaway success for the company, with over six lakh units sold so far. MSI is hoping that the new version will further strengthen its position.

The company is likely to launch the DZiRE on the new Swift's platform in the next 6-8 months.

The new Swift retains the round look; however elements like the headlights and tail lights have a stretched look.

The only department where the difference isn't drastic between the older model and the new Swift lies under the hood. The engines from the outgoing Swift have been carried over to the new car, essentially the K-Series 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines.

The 1197cc petrol engine generates 87PS @ 6000rpm and a torque of 114Nm at 4000rpm whereas the 1248cc DDiS diesel engine remains the same and offers 75PS @ 4000rpm and a torque of 190Nm @ 2000rpm.

Nissan Motor Co today unveiled its premium offering for the mid-size segment in India - the new Nissan `Sunny' - and also said it is studying the opportunity to launch a small car in the Indian market.

"We are launching the new saloon Sunny in October to coincide with the festive season. The petrol and diesel variant of the Nissan Sunny will be manufactured at the Renault Nissan alliance Orgadam facility in Chennai," Nissan Motor India's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Kiminobu Tokuyama, told reporters here.

Nissan Sunny was designed at Nissan Design and Nissan Motor Co Ltd headquarters in Japan along with inputs from 170 countries, and it would be sold worldwide. It made its global debut at the 8th China (Guangzhou)International Automobile Exhibition last December.

The unveiling of the car reinstates company's seriousness on business operations in India and "reiterates that we are as per schedule on our Indian plans", Tokuyama said.

The 10th Generation Nissan Sunny is based on the popular V- (Versatile) platform, the one used in the Nissan Micra.

Sunny will help the company triple its local sales to 40,000 units in the current financial year, Tokuyama said.

However, he did not reveal the price of the new car. The company sold 13,030 vehicles last fiscal, of which 12,000 were Micra models.

The Chennai unit is expected to expand production capacity to 400,000 vehicles a year by the middle of 2012 and the company plans to export half of them by the end of 2012, Tokuyama said.

Jaguar XF 2.2D coming soon in India

Friday, July 15, 2011 0 comments

Jaguar XF 2.2D luxury sedan will be launched soon in Indian market at lower price range by Jaguar Land Rover. Jaguar XF 2.2D comes with a fresh and attractive look so car buyers surely attract towards it. Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series will be the competitors of Jaguar XF 2.2D. Jaguar XF 2.2D is the first sedan that will be assembled in India. This new 2.2D luxury sedan will also ideally suit to Indian customers. Jaguar XF 2.2D is featured with smaller bi-Xenon lights, and the new XJ-like slit-eye headlamps with stylized ‘J’ traced out in LED.Jaguar-XF-2.2D

New smaller bi-Xenon lights will allow for a lower bonnet line. Wheel arches and new elongated, three-dimensional tail-lamps will also be included in this sedan. Several new themes and elements have been included in Jaguar XF 2.2D to freshen up the cabin but the basic design of the interiors is similar to previous models. Jaguar has lost some of the glossy material on the central console whereas when users start the car, the vents still flip open and the gear knob still goes up similar to Excalibur from the pond for that sense of event.

Jaguar XF 2.2D luxury sedan will contain a start/stop activation button on the central console and a host of new equipment such as Bluetooth and iPod compatibility. This car will not have sense of occasion that the E-class and 5-series appear to be able to muster. It is appeared that rear comfort is not as much a priority in this car because the roof is low coupé-like. The XF shows a surprising turn of foot, regardless of the motor not having twin turbos. It is pretty clear that this motor has carried plenty of work out and the list of developments is endless.

Jaguar XF 2.2D will include a double layer of thick insulation under the bonnet, the water-cooled turbocharger, modified block and sump. Flat-out performance of this car is very impressive. Star-stop system of this car is very effective but may be this function is removed for India and a six-speed gearbox is included in its place. Jaguar XF 2.2D looks pretty sporty from behind the wheel. It also contains electric steering system to boast a fair amount of feel. It is expected that Jaguar XF 2.2D will be available in India later 2011 with the price tag of approximately Rs. 35 lakh.

Specifications of Jaguar XF 2.2D:

Engine:
Fuel: Diesel
Installation: Front, longitudinal, RWD
Power: 188bhp at 3500rpm
Type: 4 cyls, 2179cc, turbodiesel
