Christopher J. Chambers born on 12th August 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin.
Chambers was drafted by the Dolphins 52nd overall in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft.Chambers turned in one of the most productive seasons of any rookie wide receiver in club history. He started seven of the 16 games in which he played, and finished with 48 receptions for 883 yards and seven touchdowns.
On the morning of Saturday, July 14, 2007, Chambers was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with driving while impaired and speeding. He was arrested around 2:30 a.m. and later released on $1,750 bond. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Capt. Lisa Goelz, Chambers faced charges of driving while impaired, speeding and reckless driving.
As of Week 15 in the 2008 season with the San Diego Chargers, Chambers has 26 receptions for 357 yards with 5 touchdowns, and 1 rushing yard on 1 rushing attempt. Chambers’ was inactive in weeks 6 and 7 due to an ankle injury sustained during a game against the Miami Dolphins. Chambers has been relatively silent in the 2008 season so far.
On November 2, he was released by the Chargers So far in 2009 Chambers only has 9 receptions for 122 yards with 1 TD.
