The 2010 Winter Olympics are hitting close to home, and with what is happening on the border in Vancouver, British Columbia. But its is not the only thing close to home. Muscat short track skaters Apolo Ohno and J. Celski also making a splash in the games.
They are in good company as well.

J. R. Celski
Short track skater Washington native son Celski started inline skating at the age of 3. At the age of 14 years, said his family decided to Celski must move to get better training. Celski parents are unable to leave their jobs in Washington, and that Celski moved to Long Beach, California with his brother. Celski worked with the famous Dutch coach Wilma Boomstra. Celski secured a place in the Olympic team 2010 despite a serious injury that ended the Olympic trials. Simon Zhu
Short track skater Simon Cho making his debut in the Vancouver Olympics. Zhu, 18, is the youngest member of the U.S. team. Xu was born in Seoul, South Korea, where he began skating at age 3 because his father wanted to find a way to Zhu to release his energy.
Zhu and his family moved to Chicago when Cho was 5 years old, Zhou continued to ski in local clubs.
Xu later moved to Maryland in 2000, and began training in 2001 in the framework of a national team coach Jimmy Yang. Zhang Zhu continue to coach since moving to Salt Lake City in 2007.
Shaw considered quitting skiing in January 2009 due to physical exhaustion and mental development. However, he made adjustments to the agenda healthwise training and ongoing training through the Olympic trials with the encouragement of friends and family. Julie Zhu

Zhou began to play with different teams of boys up to age 13 when she noticed her colleagues in the team is gaining altitude, speed and muscle. Zhu then played at a later time, and captained the Prime Minister girls ice hockey team in the state of Connecticut, in the state of Connecticut Polar Bears. Cho was a member of the national team since 2001 and was named one of the United States team for three players. Prior to 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, and Zhou’s family agreed to get a tattoo if it made the Olympic team. Zhu, along with her father, mother, sister and two brothers got matching tattoos of the Olympic rings and Julie (13). Zhu and tattoo is on top of her foot.
Amanda Evora
American figure skater pair Levora Amanda started playing hockey and turned to snowboarding at the age of 12 years after her sister tried to ski on the ice. Levora left her family home in Texas at the age of 18 to pursue her skating. EVORA skating partner is Mark Ladwig. Remember that Ladwig was Evora story when requested to do a three-pointer during a trial for the first time together. The move is a maneuver difficult to address it early. Mirai Nagasu
Figure skater Mirai Nagasu began skating at age 5 when her parents took her to a skating rink in a rainy day.

Graham Watanabe

Caroline Zhang
