tsunami in america

A tsunami alert has been issued for western Indonesia, following a 7.9 earthquake just off the coast of Sumatra.

According to Reuters news agency, the quake damaged houses and bridges, and caused fires in the city of Padang, Sumatra. Shaking could be felt in the capital, Jakarta and in neighbouring Singapore and Malaysia.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami alert for Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Thailand.

The new quake comes on the heels of a magnitude 8.0 that struck yesterday in the south Pacific Ocean. The quake triggered a tsunami to rush ashore the islands of  Samoa and America Samoa, flooding and flattening villages.

The death toll now tops 140 people.
Cars and people were swept out to sea by the fast churning water as survivors fled to higher ground.
The towering tsunami waves struck early Tuesday (6:48 a.m. local time), following a powerful Pacific Ocean earthquake with a magnitude of between 8.0 and 8.3.
America Samoa is a U.S. territory that is about halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand. About 65,000 people live there and another 175,000 live on Samoa, which is an independent country.

hugh jackman cell phone

During the performance in the stage play “A Steady Rain” Huge Jackman confronted the audience for not switching off their mobiles. Huge Jackman stopped the play when a cell phone rang in the stalls.
He was playing a role of Chicago policeman. During an intense moment the star won a cheer from the audience as cell phone rang. He said to phone owner “You want to get that? You want to get it? Grab it. I don’t care.”
When the phone rang continuously he pleaded: “Come on, just turn it off…Unless you’ve got a better story. You want to get up and tell your stories?”
The star of the X-Men sci-fi films, Huge Jackman and the current James Bond star, Daniel Craig were performing in the Broadway play “A Steady Rain”. After a few seconds of Jackman confrontation another phone rang, Daniel Craig intervened and said “Just get the phone,”

New Yorkers are mobile phone lovers and can’t be separated from cell phones. Craig was also interrupted 10 days ago during a performance despite of pre-performance warning “switch off mobile phones”.
This is not the first time that the stage actors are interrupted. During the West End performance in 2005, The British actor Richard Griffiths ordered a woman to leave theater due to ringing phone. He threatened to leave the stage during the performance in the “History Boys on Broadway” when phone rang 3 times.
It is also a duty of audience to abide by the rules and switch off their mobile phone during the stage plays.

Acne is a nightmare situation for many of us who suffer from daily breakouts. But it can be handled very effectively with some simple yet highly effective home remedies. So let discuss some potentially effective acne home remedies that may help to clear your skin permanently.

Home remedies to treat acne scars -

Acne home remedy #1 – Oatmeal can be effectively used to treat acne scars. There are lots of nutrients in oatmeal that are beneficial for the skin. Take oatmeal in a small quantity and cook it. Now let it cool and apply a paste of it to your face. Leave the paste for few minutes before you rinse it off using warm water.

Acne home remedy #2 – Juice fasting is another effective home remedy for acne. Juicing fresh fruits and vegetables will help to cleanse your system which in turn will reduce toxicity levels in your body. You can use a combination of your favorite fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, celery, carrots and oranges or any other hard fruits that can be juiced. Be sure to juice a lot of carrots as they contain many nutrients that are great for the skin.

Acne home remedy #3 – A stress free life is another great way to combat acne. Stress not only contributes to acne but also many other health problems. Be sure to reduce stress as much as possible. Learn meditation or yoga to calm your mind and lower your stress level. Another simple ways to lower stress is to watch a funny movie or tv show as laughter is great for reducing stress.

This article is also going to tell you some simple tips to prevent acne arrival or treat minor acne.

1. Apply honey gently on your face. Honey has excellent anti-bacterial properties that will help you in reducing minor acne.

2. Try to avoid make up as much as possible if not completely. Make sure that your make up cosmetics are water based.

3. Drink plenty of water (8-10 glasses per day). Water washes away toxins from your body and keeps you and your skin healthy.

4. Do not eat cookies, snacks, margarine, chips and fast foods. Also avoid saturated fats. Consumption of these causes acne.

Victoria Gotti

Victoria Gotti (born November 27, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York) is a writer, reality television participant and daughter of the late Gambino crime family Mafia boss, John Gotti. In 1984, Victoria married Carmine Agnello and had three children with him (eldest son Carmine, second child John and last but not least Frank).

They were facing foreclosure on the mansion she was awarded as part of her divorce from Agnello. Victoria Gotti was a columnist at the New York Post and US tabloid Star, and has written, Senator’s Daughter (1997), I’ll Be Watching You (1998), Superstar (2000), and Hot Italian Dish (2006).

From August 2004 until December 2005, she was the star of Growing Up Gotti, an American reality television on the A&E Network. The show, which was short lived, also featured her three sons.

The Smoking Gun launched a parody of sorts entitled Blowing Up Gotti, which consisted of family visits to John Gotti while he was in prison that prison officials routinely taped. A&E faced exceptional criticism for the show. Some viewers complained that A&E was showcasing a family living in luxury that was purchased by blood money made by her father, John Gotti.

They felt the network was glorifying organized crime. Many have also complained about the foul language used on the show, as well as the dysfunctional relationship between Victoria Gotti and her sons. Film.com said about the show: “Victoria Gotti has the warmth of an ice pick and her sons the charm of, well, thugs.”

In August 2005, she claimed she had breast cancer. However, after being accused of feigning her illness by some media outlets, she admitted soon after her initial announcement that she did not have full-blown cancer but rather had “precancerous cells” present in her breast. Her publicist, Matt Rich, was fired after the false breast cancer incident.

Big baby of Sumatra

Indonesia's heaviest-ever newborn drew curious crowds on Friday to an Indonesian hospital where the boy named Akbar - or "the Great" in Arabic - came into the world at a national record 8.7 kilograms (19.2 pounds).

Akbar Risuddin was born to a diabetic mother in a 40-minute cesarean delivery that was complicated because of his unusual weight and size, Dr. Binsar Sitanggang told reporters.

big baby

"I'm very happy that my baby and his mother are in good health," father Muhammad Hasanuddin said yesterday. "I hope I can afford to feed the baby enough, because he needs more milk than other babies."

Crowds pushed to get a peek of the extraordinary Indonesian boy, who measured nearly 62 centimeters (24 inches) when he was born Monday, at the Abdul Manan hospital in the northern town of Kisaran on the strictly Islamic island of Sumatra.

"This is fantastic," said Dewi Miranti, a mother from a nearby village as she peered through a window with around a hundred others. "This is the biggest baby I have ever seen. He looks very well and is cute."

The baby's extreme weight was the result of excessive glucose from his mother during pregnancy, Dr. Sitanggang said.

"He is greedy and has a strong appetite, nursing almost nonstop," the doctor said.

The boy was the third child of Hasanuddin, 50, and mother Ani, 41, who like many Indonesian goes by a single name. His two "little" brothers weighed 5.3 kilograms (11.6 pounds) and 4.5 kilograms (9.9 pounds) at birth.
